From February 1999 to January 2006, Chris was the Marketing Department Promotions Coordinator for The Post and Courier, the major metropolitan daily newspaper of greater Charleston, South Carolina (circulation 120,000) -- in essence, the department's creative director. Winning multiple awards on behalf of the company, Chris developed advertising, branding campaigns and online and printed marketing materials promoting company products, Internet services and special sections with the goal of increasing advertising revenue and readership. He conceptualized and established the stylistic direction of ad campaigns and promotions; created artwork, design and branding elements for the campaigns; wrote ad headlines and ad copy; and selected, created and directed the production of photography. Chris designed ads and marketing materials (media kits, ratecards and brochures); coordinated production with printers; and scheduled ad placements to reach specific demographic targets. He conceptualized and created promotions designed to build the company’s brands in the marketplace. He also conceptualized, designed and built convention and tradeshow displays; researched and wrote video scripts; performed location scouting and casting services; and directed video production in addition to designing company Web sites (including establishing the look and feel of sites, building graphics, and writing HTML code).
